Coco is a highly-regarded entrepreneur with an exemplary track record of technical innovation, corporate leadership and value building. He has been a widely recognized leader in the laser scanning industry since its inception in the 1960s. He is named inventor on forty issued patents including several of the most basic patents in galvonometry. In 1997, Mr. Montagu founded Genetic MicroSystems (GMS), which was subsequently acquired by Affymetrix. At Affymetrix, he served as Vice President of Advanced Technology until 2000. Prior to founding GMS, Mr. Montagu was founder and Chairman of General Scanning, Inc. (GSI), the world leader in laser scanning galvonometers. During his tenure, GSI grew into a laser systems provider with annual revenues of $180M. Prior to GSI, Mr. Montagu founded MFE, Inc., which became a leader in strip chart recorders for the medical industry.
Roger is a general manager with over twenty years of product and business development experience in the laser scanning, life science and medical industries. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and is named inventor on six issued patents. Starting in 1985, Mr. Dowd held several positions at General Scanning Inc. (GSI) including General Manager of the Life Sciences Business Unit. In that position, he led the transformation of an advanced engineering team into a life sciences business, culminating in its sale to Packard BioSciences for $120M. After the merger of GSI and Lumonics and the sale of the life sciences business, Mr. Dowd was recruited to lead the GSI Lumonics memory repair product line, a position that he left in December of 2001.
Caroline has 17 years of hands-on biotech/life sciences operating experience. An internist and pathologist, she combines this perspective with that gained from managing a wide spectrum of life sciences businesses in diagnostics, devices and drug discovery. In a ten-year career at Becton Dickinson, her global responsibilities included Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Strategy and Business Development. She was the founding General Manager of BDGene. Thereafter she was the Chief Business Officer for MDS Proteomics. In 2003 she co-founded Popper & Co., a management consulting firm specializing in meeting the needs of entrepreneurial and venture-backed organizations in the life sciences in North America, Europe and Asia
Michael Lytton J.D., M.Sc.
Michael Lytton joined Oxford Bioscience Partners in January 2001. Prior to that, he was Partner, Chairman of the Technology Group, and a member of the Executive Committee of Palmer & Dodge LLP, a Boston-based law firm. In addition to Decision Biomarkers, Mr. Lytton serves on the Boards of Directors of Claros, Enanta , GPC Biotech, Radius, Rib-X, Santhera, and VaxInnate. Mr. Lytton is Chairman of the Research and Technology Committee and Vice Chairman of the Immune Disease Institute , Harvard Medical School. He was a summa cum laude graduate of Princeton University and a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship for study at the University of London, and he received a J.D. degree cum laude from Harvard Law School. Mr. Lytton also received a M.Sc. degree in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Jason is a partner with Rock Maple Ventures. Prior to joining Rock Maple, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Genomics. He also co-founded ctr!Ventures, a conception stage venture capital firm. Previously, Mr. Henrichs was a strategy consultant at Monitor Company, where he focused on corporate strategy and mergers & acquisitions in a variety of industries. Mr. Henrichs studied at the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences. He represents Rock Maple on the Boards of Blacksmith Applications, Decision Biomarkers, Memento, MedVantx and Seahorse Biosciences and is an independent director of LocaModa. Jason’s previous investments include Britemoon (acquired by ClickTactics) and Morphotek (acquired by Esai Pharmaceuticals). Jason is a member of the Aberdeen Sales and Marketing Channel Advisory Council, the treasurer of the Fleisher Foundation and the past President of the Massachusetts Service Alliance.
David is Managing Director, Life Sciences, of VIMAC Ventures, LLC. Prior to joining VIMAC Ventures, Mr. Marcus was the co-founder and CEO of NRC, a leading national treatment center for severe gastrointestinal disorders based on a therapy licensed from a Harvard teaching hospital. Prior to heading NRC, he was co-founder of Wellfleet Investments, an investment firm focused on healthcare technology transfer opportunities. Before Wellfleet, he was President of Bioken Separations, a company he founded specializing in advanced life science purification products. Preceding his entrepreneurial ventures, David held numerous senior management positions at Colgate-Palmolive and its healthcare subsidiary, The Kendall Company. He has an MBA from Pace University and a BA from Syracuse University.
Dan is President and CEO of Assay Designs. Prior to joining Assay Designs, Mr. Calvo was President and CEO of Cellomics, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA, a leading provider of high content cellular screening platforms, which was acquired by Fisher Scientific International (now Thermo Fisher Scientific) in August 2005. Mr. Calvo has also served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service for PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences, and Senior Vice President of NEN Life Sciences, which was acquired by PerkinElmer in 2000.
