Waltham, Mass. – February 3, 2006 – Decision Biomarkers Inc., a developer of multiplexed protein biomarker immunoassay systems for use in drug development, today announced the closing of a $7.6 million in a second tranche of Series A financing. The round was led by Oxford Bioscience Partners and included Rock Maple Ventures, Fletcher Spaght Venture Partners, and a group of individual investors led by Jean “Coco” Montagu.

This capital investment will enable Decision Biomarkers’ management team to fast-track the use of the company’s technology to reduce overall drug development costs for pharmaceutical companies that employ panels of protein biomarkers throughout the drug development process.

The Waltham-based life sciences company is a pioneer in the emerging market for multiplexed assay technologies. The company makes the first fully automated platform to allow biotech and pharmaceutical companies to test up to forty biomarkers at one time.

“We are right on track with our product development and the launch of our automated platform,” said Decision Biomarker President and Chief Executive Officer Roger Dowd. “This funding will be used to complete the product launch and achieve early sales.”
